Designed and built an AI-powered platform that automates the due diligence process for hotel investment decisions, combining financial analysis with market intelligence.
The Challenge
Hotel investment due diligence is manual, expensive, and slow. Analysts spend weeks reviewing financial statements, market reports, and operational data for a single property. With multiple deals in the pipeline, the bottleneck was analysis capacity, not deal flow.
What I Did
Built an end-to-end system combining AI analysis with domain expertise:
- Document Processing: Automated extraction and normalization of financial data from P&Ls, rent rolls, and STR reports across inconsistent formats
- Market Analysis: Built a comp engine that matches properties against market benchmarks, adjusting for location, segment, and seasonality
- Risk Scoring: Developed a scoring model that flags operational, financial, and market risks based on historical patterns
- Interactive Reports: Created a dashboard that presents findings in a structured format analysts can explore, drill into, and export
Outcome
The platform reduced initial due diligence time from weeks to days. Analysts use it as a first-pass tool that surfaces key issues and risk factors, allowing them to focus their manual review on what matters most. The system has been used to evaluate multiple properties across different markets.
